Generic Name: Minor Bupleurum Combination Tablets
Applied Syndrome: Xiao Chai Hu Tang Wan is a Chinese herbal medicine to treat Shao-yang syndrome due to exogenous cold. Shao-yang is attacked by the evils, causing the pathogenic changes located between the exterior and interior part of the body. They fight exteriorly against yang, leading to chills, and interiorly against yin, leading to fever. They are characterized by alternate fever and chills and manifested as chest distress and hypochondric fullness, depression with poor appetite, vexation with liability of vomiting, bitter taste, dryness of throat, vertigo, thin and white tongue coating, and taut pulse.

Indications: Respiratory infectious disease, invasion of Shao-yang channel by pathogenic factors due to puerperal weakness, invasion of the blood chamber by pathogenic heat during menstruation in woman manifested as occasional chills and fever or dudden onset of chills and fever. Malaria with pathogens invading in Shao-yang Channel, Acute and chronic gastritis, acute and chronic cholecystitis, icterohepatitis, acute and chronic nephropyelitis, mumps, ileotyphus, acute appendagitis, Mastitis, orchitis, median otitis, adenolymphitis, pleurisy.
Contraindication: It is not suitable for the case where evil has existed in the exterior or entered into the interior. It is contraindicated in patients with retenion of body fluid or accumulation of damp-heat in the interior.
