Generic Name: Yunnan Baiyao Capsule

Applied Syndrome: For treatment of incised wounds, gun-shot wounds, bruises and contusions, pyogenic infection of the skin. Irrespective of their being serious or not, administration depends on whether there is hemorrhage. In case of hemorrhage, take with lukewarm boiled water; take with wine in the absence of hemorrhage.

Ingredients:
Although its main ingredients are steamed and raw Sanqi (Tienchi ginseng, Notoginseng roots of Panax pseudoginseng) used to normalize blood flow, enhance poor circulation and heal internal bleeding in injuries and bleeding ulcers, and Rhizoma Dioscoreae, The two tienchi ginsengs are combined with astringent herbs that absorb excess bleeding, invigorate the blood and enhance healing including myrrh and “dragon’s blood” another resinous herb for internal bleeding. Its exact formula is a closely guarded secret. The company website mentions that progesterone has been analyzed from the formula, several saponins, alkaloids and the pharmacologically active compound calcium phosphate.  However the progesterone may not exist in that state provided that the formula is still the traditional formula since Dioscorea requires laboratory alteration to become progesterone. The separate herbal ingredients are reportedly made up by thirteen separate teams, none of whom have any knowledge of the ingredients the other teams are mixing. The individual mixed components are then combined by a further team, who have no knowledge of what constitutes them but knows the proportions in which they are combined. The formula is so closely guarded that only one copy of it reportedly exists – locked in the safe of the General commanding the Chinese armed forces.

Contents: 16 Capsules.

Instructions: 

1. For adults, 1 to 2 capsules each time, 4 times daily.
2. Children of 2-5 years old, one quarter of the adult's dosage; children of 6-12 years old, half of the adult's dosage.
3. In case of very serious bruises or contusion, take the red pill (safety pill) with wine first.

Storage: Store in cool and dry place. Keep out of children.

Adverse Reactions: None has been reported,but stop using if any allergic symptom occurs.

Indications: Dispersing blood stasis and hemostasis, activating blood circulation and alleviating pain, detoxication and promoting subsidence of swelling, used in treatment for traumatic injury, stagnated blood and oncotic pain, spitting blood, hemoptysis, hematochezia, hemorrhoid hemorrhage, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, surgical bleeding, suppurative infection on body surface and pyogenic infections, contusion of soft tissue, closed fracture, hemoptysis of bronchiectasis and pulmonary tuberculosis, hemorrhage of petic ulcer and infection diseases of skin.

Contraindication:

1. Pregnant woman is prohibited from taking Yunnan Baiyao capsule.
2. Broad beans, fish, sour or cold food should be avoided within 24 hours after administration
